ST:TVH Soundtrack
Leonard Rosenman scored the fourth Trek film. At the time he was already a seasoned veteran with over 30 years of film scoring experience. He had written music for films such as Rebel Without a Cause, two of the Planet of the Apes films, Barry Lyndon (for which he won 1 of his 2 Oscars), and the 1978 animated Lord of the Rings. My collection includes Rosenman's Star Trek IV score on vinyl.

ST:TSFS Soundtrack
I purchased the soundtrack of Star Trek III: The Search For Spock on vinyl on 9 June 1984.
From my 9 June diary entry: "Today I bought the original motion picture soundtrack to Star Trek III: The Search For Spock. It cost $10.49. The jacket is the best yet with some great photos from the movie. Unfortunately I won't be able to play it for some time since our stereo set is in for repairs. The strange thing is that there are two records -- one which has both sides filled with music and another separate record which has one side COMPLETELY blank and the other side has one song of less than 4 minutes in length entitled "Theme of Star Trek III". Weird!"
I provided an update on 2 July: "I've also finally listened to my ST III soundtrack which I brought with me to Lindsay since our stereo is STILL in the repair shop. It is more melodic and beautiful than the soundtrack to the second movie which had more action tracks. There was also a fair amount of re-working of ST II themes in this album, mixed in with good new material. The single, which is scratched a bit at the beginning, is a rocked-up version of Star Trek."

Return of the Jedi Soundtrack
My sole Star Wars soundtrack is from Return of the Jedi. I bought it on 4 July 1983.
During the 80s, Star Wars always seemed to be one step cooler than Star Trek. Cooler FX, cooler toys, etc. Another example is this album which, in addition to an awesome gatefold, also contained a glossy insert four page insert (see below) with fantastic stills from the film.

ST:TWOK Expanded Soundtrack
An expanded soundtrack for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was released on Retrograde Records (affiliated with Film Score Monthly) in 2009. It contains additional, never-before-released soundtrack music from the film. I ordered a copy of the CD via the Screen Archives Entertainment website on 20 July 2009.
The CD includes a very informative insert booklet. I no longer have a decent turntable so it was doubly exciting for me to not only have music that wasn't on the original record but to also be able to hear the soundtrack with digital clarity for the first time.

ST:TWOK Soundtrack
James Horner's music for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is certainly one of its strong points. Many of the themes and fanfares from his score are seared into my memory.
I picked up this album on 12 August 1982. Here's part of my diary entry from that day: "...bought the motion picture soundtrack for Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan. It is very good. My favourite is 'Enterprise Clears Moorings'. I also like the two title sequences."

ST:TMP Soundtrack
A highlight of the first Star Trek film for me, and I suspect for many others, is the Jerry Goldsmith score. Arguably (and I even have this argument with myself occasionally) it remains the finest Star Trek soundtrack to date. I purchased this album on 16 February 1983.
The front of the album features the standard poster art for the film, while the back features a nice cast photo notable for its inclusion of Rand and Chapel.
The glossy record sleeve features stills from the film on one side and an assortment of aliens on the other.
Good 'ole vinyl.

Star Trek Pilots Soundtrack
GNP Crescendo Records released a few volumes of soundtrack recordings from the original series. The first, released in 1985, contained music from The Cage and Where No Man Has Gone Before.
One of the great things about 12" vinyl is that you get a decently big canvas for the album cover art.
